• A track record of captaincy at the club or provincial level is an asset
• Strong playing ability, probable selection for the provincial team independent of captaincy
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment
• Good knowledge of cricket, and understanding of needs before, during, and after matches
• Previous playing experience at Canada’s inter-provincial level is an asset

Coach:

• A track record of coaching/mentoring or leading a cricket club or team is an asset
• Sound understanding of cricket and laws
• Played cricket at a club level for 3+ years
• Plans to stay in NL for at least the next year
• Knowledge of Cricket NL’s internal workings and culture
• Preferably played cricket at the Canadian provincial level for more than 3 years (not mandatory)
• ICC accreditation/formal coaching qualifications are an advantage but not mandatory.

Team Manager:

• Track record of administration with a sports team or a club is an asset
• Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills
• Knowledge of Cricket NL policies and procedures
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment
• Good knowledge of cricket, and understanding of needs before, during, and after matches
• Previous playing experience at Canada’s inter-provincial level is an asset (not mandatory)
• Formal education in sports team management is an advantage but not mandatory

It is important to emphasize that these roles are voluntary, and no financial compensation is provided. Additionally, the Coach and Manager are expected to travel with the provincial team, and Cricket NL will offer financial support to the extent possible.
