Cricket Canada is working with the Coaching Association of Canada to develop a National Coaching Certification Programme (NCCP) for cricket.
The Community Coach certification is the first stage of coaching for cricket and is designed to give participants the background to coach the Cricket Canada Kids programme- soft-ball cricket aimed at beginners- usually kids under 12 although it works well for older participants.
To be certified as an NCCP trained community coach you need to complete the Cricket Canada Community coach workshop and the NCCP Multisport course Making Ethical Decisions. The multisport courses are offered by Sport NL a few times a year and are free of charge.

Cricket NL will be offering the opportunity to take the Cricket Canada Community coach workshop on Saturday, January 27th, with classroom work in the Swilers clubhouse and gym / practical work in the Powerplex. Provisional timing is from 10 am to 4 pm. Pre-registration is required in order to determine numbers and materials. There will be a $10 charge to cover the cost of copying and gym rental.
