Our friend and fellow cricketer Waqas Ali was badly injured in a car accident in mid-September; Waqas has been a prominent member of our community for years, important in growing the sport here, and a founder of the Eagles club.. We are thankful to hear that he is recovering well, but this accident had a major effect on his life and well-being for the next few weeks. Like many of us, his family is far away, and this is a time when his cricketing family was able step in to help. Cricket NL and its members held a fund raiser and was able to provide Waqas with substantial support to assist him.
