We are accepting resumes to appoint a Captain, Coach and a Manager for Cricket NL’s men’s team for the next 12 months. The board will review the resumes and select the best candidate.
 
Below are the ideal criteria for the captain position:
  • Track record of captaincy at club or provincial level an asset
  • Strong ability as a player- probable selection for provincial team independent of captaincy ability
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Good knowledge of cricket – understands needs before, during and after matches
  • Previous playing experience at Canada inter-provincial level is an asset
Below are the ideal criteria for the role of Coach:
  • Track record of coaching/mentoring or leading a cricket club or team an asset.
  • Sound understanding of cricket and laws.
  • Played cricket at a club level for 3+ years.
  • Should be planning to stay in NL for at least the next year.
  • Knowledge of Cricket NL internal workings and culture.
  • Preferably played cricket at Canada provincial level for more than 3 years, not mandatory though.
  • ICC accreditation/formal coaching qualifications are an advantage but not mandatory.

Below are the ideal criteria for the role of Team Manager:

  • Track record of administration with a sports team or a club an asset.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of Cricket NL policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Good knowledge of cricket – understands needs before, during and after matches.
  • Previous playing experience at Canada inter-provincial level is an asset, not mandatory though.
  • Formal education in sport team management is an advantage but not mandatory.
It should be noted that these are voluntary positions, with no compensation attached. Moreover, the coach and manager are expected to travel with the provincial team and will be financially supported by Cricket NL as much as possible.
