Cricket NL’s fall league started yesterday at Powerplex complex. Two games were played, RC Vs Tigers and Hurricanes Vs Wolves. Both games were tight contest which eventually Tigers and Hurricanes won respectively.
In the first match, RC Won the toss and chose to bat. RC had a flying start with a 50 runs stand from Pratham (25) and Rana (21) in 4.5 overs. Tigers bowler came back very well. RC Couldn’t capitalize the good start and ended at 76/4 in their 8 overs. Ibnul was the pick of the bowlers who took 2/9 in this 2 over. Neel took 1/24. In reply, Tigers also started well with a 50 runs stand from Manik (24) and Mubassir (32*). However, Manik and Ibnul got out in quick succession and RC Came back in the game. But Mubassir and Abid (8) keep their calm and finished one balls to spare. Maulik (1/16) was the pick of the bowlers for RC.
In another Match, Wolves won the toss and chose to bat. Akash (33) and Gurpreet (29) started so well. Wolves scored 60 runs in first 4 overs. But then Hurricanes came back so strong, and restricted Wolves to 82 runs in 7 overs. 1 over was reduced from each inns due to time constraints. Rahi (1/17) and Wahid (1/19) were the pick of the bowlers. Arnab (2/34) was expensive but he took two important wickets. In reply Hurricanes didn’t have a good start, took only 33 runs in first 4 overs needing 50 from last three. But Kabid (23) gave a good come back momentum which eventually Rahi (20*) finished with a last ball six. At one point Hurricanes needed 10 from 1, But Harman bowled 2 wides and 2 no balls which let Rahi a chance to win. And then what a way to deliver, 6 to win and a 6 was hit. A nail bit bitting Finish! Taranvir was the pick of the bowler for Wolves who gave only 10 runs in 2 overs for his 1 wicket.
Overall, an exciting and enjoyable start to the tournament. The next match is on Wednesday, stay tuned with Cricket NL.
