No equipment is required- participants should wear comfortable clothing for outdoors athletic exercise. A hat and sunscreen is however essential, particularly on bright days.
The programme is based on the Cricket Canada Kids programme and the English Cricket Board’s Kwik cricket programme. Cricket Canada KIDS introduces Canadian children to cricket in a fun and safe environment. The program adheres to recommended Sport Canada guidelines for FUN-damental movement skills and Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L).
Depending on numbers we may split the kids into a younger/ beginner group and an older advanced group. most work will be done with a tennis ball or soft rubber kwik cricket ball, rather than a hard senior cricket ball in order to ensure a safe environment.
Coaching will be from our experienced coaches with assistance from players from the high performance programme.
We acknowledge the support of the City of St. John’s through a grant to Cricket NL.
