The Tigers played the Wolves in Sunday’s 40 over match. The Tigers batted first and lost their first wicket without a run on the board. Junayed Tushar (32) and Maanik Arora put a well paced partnership of 92 together before it was broken in the 17th over. Maanik was joined by Ali Raza who continued his good form of yesterday. Maanik reached the first century of the Cricket NL summer , his fourth in NL cricket, in the 30th over from 92 balls. Ali contributed 60 out of a partnership of 166, lbw to Kathan Shaw, who then bowled Arafat un Nabi next ball. Maanik was caught for 110 (99 balls, 11×4, 3×6). Kathan Shah earned a spot on the honours board, taking 6/46 in all, but Tigers became the first team to bat out their 40 overs this season, totalling 272/9.
The Wolves, penalised 2 overs for a slow over rate, were never up with the run rate as no bat played the major innings required to give them a chance; Aditya, Aryan Falke, Daxraj Mehta and Kathan Shah all were out in the 20s, and when rain stopped play, Wolves were 167/8 from 35 overs, well behind the revised target of 250, giving Tigers the win by 82 runs (D/L).
Md Arife Mahmud and Junayed Tushar each took two wickets leading a solid all round bowling performance from the Wolves. Full scorecard in our match centre.
